When I started working on this piece, I wasn't feeling confident AT ALL. I was actually the opposite of that, feeling like no matter how hard I tried, all my ideas were s**t. It's funny how confidence dictates so much of my work, in the sense that if I feel like I suck that day, probably all the work I do that day will suck as well, and the opposite is true, too. In this case though, it was more of a journey, going from feeling sucky, to just sticking with it and pushing through, to getting in a groove, like, ok maybe I can go somewhere with this, to ending up with something that made me feel more confident about my own work. I guess confidence is like that: messy, impossible to hold on to, showing up and leaving uninvited, just as inspiration :)
